Amankora, Royal Kingdom of Bhutan
Inspired by the local architectural language, the lodges for Aman resorts in Bhutan are located over various sites – including Paro, Thimpu, Punakha, Gangte and Bumthang.
Interiors of the rammed-earth lodge buildings are clad in a mixture of warm golden hued timbers and wood paneling, timber floors and terrazzo lined bathrooms. All fixed and loose furnishings, light fittings, fireplaces and textiles were all custom designed and inspired by traditional Bhutanese forms, designs and colours. In Punakha an existing multi-story home was restored and renovated to house the public areas of the property.
